Alyssa & Brandon

It was a great priveledge for us to be asked to photograph Alyssa & Brandon on their wedding day. They were married just after Thanksgiving at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tacoma. It was a beautiful and blessed ceremony followed by a great reception.

We want to thank Alyssa and Brandon for the honor and wish them all our best for many happy years together. (BTW-your daughter is adorable!)

Baby C

This is my daughter, Caitrin. She loves to be photographed when she is not too busy doing things that young ladies like to do. She is such a cute girl, if I say so myself (taking after her mother). These photographs were taken over the course of a few weeks for her annual photo portfolio (who says that you have to wait for senior pictures?) and being the proud papa I want to share them with you. Enjoy!

Merry Christmas,

Chris.

Kevin says "I Do" to Sinead

Sinead and Kevin were married at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on October 18, 2008. This was my first "desination wedding" and I was very happy to take a part in documenting their day. Kevin and Sinead are a great couple and I know that they will be very happy together.

I wish them all my best for many happy year together.

God's riches and blessings,

Gingerbread House Photographs

Every year, McKenna Video Services builds a gingerbread house and donates it to Willow Gardens Retirement Community here in Puyallup (actually Lynette builds it and I lend morale support). This is a great community service project for us and our family and the residents of Willow Garden love it!

This year we went all out. In fact, the Puyallup Herald got hold of us and interviewed Lynette for a newspaper article (that issue will be published in the December 11 issue of the Herald) and asked me to provide some photographs of the building and assembly process. Some of the photographs that I provided to the Herald appear below.

Enjoy the photographs and Merry Christmas.

God’s peace,

Chris.

Wedding Customer Testimonial

I know, I know. I said in a previous post that I wasn't going to post every customer testimonial that we recieve on this blog, but some are just too good to pass up and we can't resist the temptation.

I received this note earlier today from Jane and Duane, whose wedding we photographed in August. We turned their photographs into a small video and presented it to them this last weekend.

"Hello Chris and Lynette,

We just want to let you know how extremely happy we are with our wedding video!!!!!!!

Duane and I watched it together on Saturday night and we were speechless. I cried of course and Duane couldn't stop smiling. We have shared it with family and friends throughout the weekend and all love it!!!

Thank you so much! Everyone has said they are the best wedding pictures they have ever seen! I just can't tell you enough how blessed we are to have found you both to capture our perfect day. Thank you, thank you, thank you."

And we say thank you to Jane and Duane for giving us the honor of helping you document your special day.

God's blessings,

Chris.

BTW-some of Jane and Duane's picture can be found on this blog and other can be found on 2 of our websites:

Great Nighttime Photographs

Have you ever seen a photograph of a city at night? Have you seen those photo’s with the highways almost alive with streaks of red and light light from cars whizzing by? Have you ever tried to take a shot like that and not be able to figure it out? It can be complicated but it is something that everyone can do with the right camera.

The first thing that is required to get a shot like this is a tripod. Don’t have a tripod? Then pack up and go home. You need to be able to secure the camera so it doesn’t move at all and a tripod is a sure way to do that.

After securing your camera, set it so that you have a long exposure shot. Turn off ‘auto’ (and the flash) and enter the mode that allows you to set the shutter speed. You will need to experiment with the correct amount of time to keep the shutter open: start with a full second and adjust from there. If your camera is fully manual, you might set your ISO at 100 (this will eliminate background “digital noise”) and set your aperture at f8. Now continue to adjust your shutter speed to get the right exposure.

When you shoot the photograph, do not press the button. This will introduce movement into the photo and it will blur the entire image. Alternatively, set the self-timer or use an off-camera shutter depress mechanism if your camera has one.

If your camera allows for all this, you should be able to capture some killer night shots.

Best wishes for awesome photographs.

Chris

Chefs Night Out - November 1, 2008

Chef's Night Out was the theme of this year's Puyallup/Sumner Chamber of Commerce annual fundraising event. This years event featured meals prepared by over a dozen chefs from local restaurants and eateries.

We were asked to take some photographs of the event that evening, which we graciously accepted. Below are just a few of the photos we snapped, which includes some of images that appeared in yesterday's Puyallup Herald.

Enjoy the photos.

Jane and Duane got Married

Jane and Duane have a great story about how they met, fell in love, and decided to get married. They are both wonderful people, with great kids, great family and great friends. We were made to feel so welcome and were honored to be chosen as their photographer for their August wedding.

We wish them all the best for many happy, happy years together.

God's blessings on you both.
