Connor & Amelia

Connor and Amelia were perfect little angels just long enough for me to snap this awesome picture of the two them. We had a lot of fun shooting them the other day. Amelia was the perfect little model and we look forward to photographing more formal portraits of them and their parents in the next week or two.

Blessings,

Chris.

Karen & Doug: July 12, 2008 Wedding

Our congratulations go out to Karen and Doug, who were married at St. Demetrios Orthodox Church in Seattle on July 12, 2008.

This is by far one of the most beautiful and fun weddings that we have ever had the privilege of filming and we know that their lives together will be filled with as much fun and romance as was evident on their wedding day!

We hope that you enjoy this montage of video stills that will be part of their completed wedding video.

Once again, congratulations Karen and Doug!

Holly & Aaron: June 28, 2008

Congratulations to Holly and Aaron, who were married on June 28, 2008 in Mineral, Wa.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day for an outside wedding-ok, maybe a little cooler (the temperature was approaching 100)!. They were married in a very picturesque setting, under the shadow of Mt. Rainier on a bluff above Mineral Lake. From Holly's fairy-tale entrance in a horse-driven carriage to the boats on the lake, the day was full of romance.

We wish them all our best for a bright future together.

Chris.

Wedding and Event Video: Does your Videographer have a Code of Ethics?

As a member of WEVA International (Wedding and Event Videographers), McKenna Video Services (and MVS Wedding Productions) must subscribe to a code of ethics that governs how we do business and how we work. That code is as follows:

  • We will conduct all business transactions with honesty and integrity. We will treat each customer with respect, making sure they fully understand the services for which they have contracted. I will regard fellow videographers and other trade professionals with respect.
  • We will strive at all times to produce work of the highest possible quality.
  • We will constantly advance and improve our skills as a professional videographer. Further, we will share our knowledge with fellow videographers, students, and others who aspire to become professional videographers, so as to attempt to raise the standards of the industry.*
  • Engage in fair and honest business practices, adhering to local, state/provincial, or federal laws and rules.
  • Use dependable equipment and accessories, which I will maintain in good working condition. I will also maintain and have available back-up equipment, wherever possible.
  • We will conduct ourselves with grace and professionalism at any House of Worship, or other facility, that we enter. It shall be our goal to establish a positive working relationship with the other professionals and clergy. My attire and demeanor shall be appropriate to the dignity of the occasion.

We hold these values very close to our heart and they transcend throughout all our business transactions.

In researching someone to film your wedding or event, remember to ask if they are a member of WEVA and if they have a code of ethics that they subscribe to.

You can visit WEVA at www.weva.com for more information.

Blessings to you,

Chris

Wedding Video Facts

We recently ran across some national statistics regarding professional wedding video and thought that it was interesting enough to share.
  • 98% of ALL newlyweds recommend future brides have their wedding professionally videotaped;
  • Before their wedding, only 50% of brides-to-be consider video one of their top 10 wedding "must haves." After the wedding, that number rises to 75%;
  • 45% of brides that have their wedding videotaped by an amateur would have preferred a professional videographer after viewing the results;
  • 38% of couples have their wedding videotaped (amateur and professional), compared to 98% that have their wedding professionally photographed. Of those that do not have their wedding videotaped, 68% regret their decision.
The statistic that stands out in my mind is that 98% of all newlyweds recommend to others that their wedding be professionally videotaped (professional means someone that has training, experience, and professional equipment). Your wedding is a one-time event and should be documented. You can never go back and do it again.

Don't deny your children the opportunity to see Mommy and Daddy getting married and don't deny yourself the opportunity to relive that day on every anniversary and far into the future. We understand that professional wedding videography is an investment and budget these days are tight, but there are methods and means to help make it affordable. We always welcome the opporunity to discuss our packages and how you can benefit from some of our packages.

Visit us at www.mvsweddings.com for more information on our current offerings and to view a small sample of our work.

God bless,

Chris.

Lightning Photograph

I was sitting at my PC this evening going over some photographs that I took this week and thought that I would share this photograph with you all. This is a photograph I took at the height of the electrical storm that we in the Puget Sound region experienced the other night. It was an incredible storm, lasting throughout the night. This photograph is actually a long-exposure photo that shows a couple of different lightning strikes.

Enjoy!

Whitney

I was privileged to photograph Whitney, a professional model, a few days back. These are a few of the photographs I took of her. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and I look forward to working with her again soon.
